Abstract

Currently, innovation is a source of competitive advantage, so the research has a growing interest in identifying its determinants, if organizational culture encourages or creates barriers to the creation of innovative environment. Thus, this study seeks to understand the main constructs of culture and innovation to propose a conceptual model to identify cultural traits to create an innovative environment. Established the model, making the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data’s providing by Best Companies to Work for in Spain (Editions 2013, 2014 and 2015) to identify if technology companies possess these traits and, therefore, are innovative.

The contribution of this study is to provide the possibility for companies to understand the cultural traits that need to be identified to create an environment of innovation.
